Tamryn and Silver
by BRIANNA ROSE BURTON
Tamryn and Silver dated for 3 years,
Their relationship has leveled since then,
But Tamryn’s been gone for a while now,
Turns out she’s seeing other men.
Tamryn walks down the streets of Clython –
The street where Silver and her met.
Her memories are slowing her down,
But she slowly hopes to forget.
And they both sing:
“I’m all alone and the sound of tears can’t wash away the pain.
I’m sitting here; all I do is think about you every day.
I know it’s been awhile, and time heals all wounds,
But the remedy to this is far away.”
Silver begins to hallucinate,
Seeing Tamryn wherever he goes,
Knowing if you love someone this much,
You never let them go.
And in all of his dreams he says to himself:
“Out of the corner of my eye,
I saw you smiling at me,
And I couldn’t help but think how beautiful it was –
You’re beautiful to me.”
And in a misty park, Tamryn sings:
“I’m all alone and the sound of tears can’t wash away the pain.
I’m sitting here; all I do is think about you every day.
I know it’s been awhile, and time heals all wounds,
But the remedy to this is far away.”
Tamryn and Silver meet up at the beach,
Both their hearts are slowly mending.
It’s been too long since they spoke to each other,
All those years left ascending.
To climb the ladder of success and start healing,
Vent out all the feelings and pain.
For all those days climbing the ladder,
Was to feel no more pain again.
And they both sing:
“If I had one day left, I know what I’d do,
I’d spend that day on earth right here alone with you;
And we wouldn’t have to worry about pain,
Because with you here, pain is far away.”
