First Dance
by JOSEPH BRYANT (Italian Stallion)
Beginning my first year in a new high-school
I was nervous, and didn’t know what to expect
But then I met the local home town beauty
And found myself in a new state of mind
She was very nice and pretty too
She had a way with the boys
That most would like to have
She was the angel that I asked to the first school dance
I was nervous, and didn’t know what to expect
But I took her hand and led her to the dance floor
Holding her close not wanting to let go
She told me this was the first time she’s ever danced
I smiled with comfort and said don’t worry Hun
This is the first time I’ve danced as well
We’ll do it together, step-by-step
Making mistakes and laughing through it all
We’ll make our first dance one to remember
So take my hand and hold me close
Listen to the music and try not to fall
Holding each-other close even giving a kiss
We’ll make this night into a fairytale
A night in which we’ll tell all
She was the one I asked to the first dance
I was nervous, and didn’t know what to expect
But I took her hand and led her to the dance floor
Holding her close not wanting to let go
She told me this was the first time she’s ever danced
I smiled with comfort and said don’t worry Hun
This is the first time I’ve danced as well
Twenty years have past, and you’re still my girl
Holding hands and kissing as well
Another year has past
And we still tell our love story
Our kids ask us every year, to tell our story
About how we met and fell in love
Well kids it’s simple, it went like this
we held each-other and danced to our first song
Yes she was the one I asked to the first dance
Got already to take my first chance
Boy was I lucky, I had the girl of my dreams
She came down the steps with a big smile on her face
Boy was she beautiful in that blue dress
I took her hand and led her to the car
And brought her to our first dance
And now we have a story of romance
To share and hold
As we dance our first dance
